Happy Things

5 Happy Things For The 5th
•Today the sun was shining all day. My mom and I went for a walk outside and pulled Judah in his red wagon. I am so ready for spring. Judah needs to learn how to walk so that we can play outside!
•My mom came over and spent time with Judah while I went to the gym and ran a few errands.

•No sugar added Ice Cream. That is a happy thing!

•Judah fell asleep in my arms tonight before I had a chance to put him in his crib. He hasn't fallen asleep in my arms in literally months and I so enjoyed it. I sat and rocked him and didn't want to put him down.

•Tomorrow is Saturday and I'm planning on working in the yard with my hubby. We pruned our apple trees and I'm excited to get rid of the prunings. Call me strange if you want to but, I sure do enjoy working outside with my man!

Pretty

Judah has been so full of new words lately. It's been so fun to hear his sweet little voice say "shoe" and "cheese" and his other little words. His voice is so precious and it melts my heart.

Tonight when I walked in from being at the gym, Jeremiah told me that he taught Judah a new word while I was gone. Judah can now say "pretty"! I guess the whole idea was for him to say "Mommy Pretty". What a sweet little boy and what a sweet husband I have.

In other good news, Judah drank alot more water today. For the last 2 weeks, he has just pushed anything to drink away from him. Anything and in any cup/bottle/straw. Anything.
Well, today we went and played with Sally and cousin Noah and Judah got to use one of Noah's sippy cups for water during lunch. He drank and drank so, we are borrowing it from Sally. I really hope he continues to drink well from it. Thanks Noah for sharing!

Everday can't be easy right?

The last couple of days, I've just been in a little bit of a funk. I think it has alot to do with that fact that I've been running around doing lots of errands and stuff for too many days in a row and I just needed some time to be home and get caught up on stuff. I'm normally a pretty scheduled and routine kind of person and life has just gotten all shaken around. I wish I could say that I like change, that I embrace change but, the truth is......change is hard for me!

So, today Judah and I stayed home and I got lots of things done. I did the laundry, mopped the kitchen floor, cleaned up after the dogs outside (even if that wasn't fun, I loved the fresh air), sorted through stuff and just got all caught up. It felt so good and I think Judah was happy to have a day at home too. We need to get back into a routine and have more balance in our lives.

Tonight I went to the gym. Per the 5K training schedule (remember, you do that one first and then you do the 1/2 marathon training), I was supposed to run 2.25 miles. I ran the first mile and then my stomach started hurting so, I power walked the rest of it. It got me down a little because this was the first evening that I haven't been able to do exactly what the training plan calls for. But, I did the full distance and that's what matters. I know it was harder tonight because I haven't eaten that well the last couple of days and I haven't slept enough.

So, tonight I'm going to bed alot earlier, tomorrow I'm eating alot better and tomorrow night, the treadmill and I will be better friends again. Everyday can't be easy right?

Here's a cute picture for today. This boy has great hair, I absolutely love it.

Pants on the ground

Today after I put Judah down for his nap, he didn't go to sleep. No, that silly boy was playing in his crib and he took his pants and socks off. He dropped his blankie, pants and socks on the ground and when I went to see why he wasn't sleeping, he was standing there, looking so proud that he had undressed himself. I'm really glad I had him in a onesie today because I'm sure he would have removed his diaper and shirt also.

Oldie but, goodie

The other day when I had my picture card out of my camera, I discovered that I have some pictures saved on my camera that were not on the card. I didn't even know I had these pictures and I was so happy to come across them.

This picture is when Judah was just 2 days old. I don't think it could be anymore precious.

This last week Judah hasn't been feeling too well but, I could tell that he is feeling alot better today. He was back to his old self. The little boy that never stops moving and is into everything. He was laughing alot too. A few minutes after I put him in his crib tonight for bed, I heard a different noise over the baby monitor. It sounded like he was laughing. I went and peeked in his room and there he was, laying with his blankie all tucked under him and he was just laughing and laughing. He must be on the mend if he is laughing himself to sleep!

Quick update on the jogging training.

Saturday I went to the gym, ran 1 mile, walked .25 miles and then ran another .25. So, 1.5 total. It felt good.

Today I went to the gym and ran 2 miles without walking at all! It was hard but, it felt so good! The schedule I'm following has Sunday being the day where you do the longest run and then you rest on Monday. So, no running for me tomorrow. My time was 22 minutes for 2 miles. I felt really good today on the treadmill. That may have something to do with the coffee I had before hand. Caffeine always makes things a little easier.

I'm hoping that this will be a really good week! Judah has been refusing to drink ANYTHING from a bottle or silly cup and it is really hard on me. It makes me just want to cry because I want him to be getting enough fluids. He just pushes everything away. I'm hoping we can get over this hurdle this week!

Day #2

Well, today Sally and Noah came over with their jogging stroller. I got out mine and we headed out. We did our normal 2.6 mile route but, we jogged some of it and walked some of it. We did the whole thing in 40 minutes. We weren't super fast but, we were slow either and it was good exercise.

I just have to say that running and pushing a stroller is MUCH harder than running on the treadmill with good music while racing the person next to me. Today when we jogged, it was just so hard for me. I really felt like such a big baby and so out of shape!

So, tomorrow I'll go to the gym and do 1.5miles jogging. I'm looking forward to being on the treadmill again and not pushing a stroller!

2 Cute Things From Today:
****Judah opened the refrigerator and said "cheese". I asked him if he wanted some cheese for a snack, put him in his highchair and gave him some string cheese. He was so cute saying cheese.
****From the living room, I looked into the kitchen to see what Judah was doing. He was laying on his tummy underneath the dining room table, resting his head on his hands. He looked like he was about to just fall asleep right there under the table. It was too cute.

Running and training

Today I called my sister to ask her if she had done her taxes yet. I wanted to encourage her to do them soon because having a new tax deduction (baby) makes for a happier return! So, we talked for a bit and then she told me that she has been thinking about training for a half marathon. She wants to have a fitness goal to work towards and she asked me to JOIN her in training for the run! I am NOT a runner, I am a true beginner but, there are great training plans for us to follow and I believe that we can do it.

So, the run is Sunday, May 9th (Mother's Day!!!) in Kirkland and I can't think of anything I'd rather do on Mother's Day than run a half marathon with my sister. The feeling when we complete the run will be amazing. Talk about a feeling of accomplishment.

The training plan goes like this........1st you must train to be able to do a 5K. There are print outs that say how much you need to run everyday. The training for the 5K takes 6 weeks. After you can do a 5K, you train for the 1/2 marathon. The training for the 1/2 marathon takes 12 weeks if you follow the schedule.

So, we have 15 weeks and a few days until the run. Training is going to be hard and take time. We must follow the training schedules though or else it won't happen. I feel so pumped up and excited. I know we can do this. It is out of my comfort zone and I'm definitely not a runner but, the feeling of completing the run is going to be awesome.

I'm going to try to blog often about the training for it. I'll be honest about my run times and hope that I don't have any judgemental readers. :) I am truly a beginner!

Tonight was the first day of training. The instructions were to run 1 mile at an "easy" pace. I went to the gym after Jeremiah got home, warmed up for 5 minutes, ran the 1 mile in just under 12 minutes and then cooled down and stretched. It felt good! I got on a treadmill next to someone that was running so, it motivated me to keep going. Also, I had great music to listen to. Bon Jovi "Livin' on a Prayer", motivational for sure!

On another note, this morning Judah and I went and got some groceries. He is transitioning from having 2 naps a day to just an afternoon nap. He fell asleep in the car on the way to the store and I thought he looked so cute. Don't worry, I took this picture of him after I was parked.
